Use appropriate systems/materials

As in many other situations the failure to predict the impacts of actions can lead to inappropriate activities being undertaken. A case the authors are aware of is a green roof that was not as green as it should have been. The roof was covered in fertiliser [chicken manure]. However the water run off from the roof was being reused as grey water. The consequent build up of bacteria in the grey water prohibited its reuse.
